Roadtrip to Aalborg

21/07/2011 by Jeanette Jewel 1 Comment

Yesterday Cecilie and I drove to Aalborg, juts because both of us were kind of bored and I had also promised Canni that before school (which start in 2 weeks and 3 days. Holidays passed by way too fast, to be honest!), I would come visit her in my car, so I brought Cecilie along! We went around in the city and then we went to meet up with Canni at her work and we then got something to eat. After that, we went to the sea in Nibe, and then we slept at Cannis for the night. We then drove home today, after we’d went to Ikea, where I needed to buy some shelfs for my DVD’s. Yay!

Also, for the first time I’m showing you all my car; Opel Kadett Stationcar. With no back doors. I don’t know why you make a stationcar with no back doors, but apparently they thought that was a good idea! So weird. I do love my car though, even with all its little flaws 🙂

London; July 10th 2011

On July 10th we went on sightseeing around London. First, we went to see London Eye and Big Ben. We also bought tickets to go up in the London Eye, but just as we were about to go queue, the London Eye broke and we had to be in line to get our money back. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get an immediate refund, so we had to fill out a piece of paper and they will hopefully send us the money in the mail.

After we’d been at the London Eye and Big Ben, we went to see London Bridge and then we walked to Tower Bridge from the London Bridge. Tower Bridge is so huge, and such a pretty bridge!

When we finished at Tower Bridge, we took the tube to Victoria and walked to Buckingham Palace. Loved the beautiful gold everywhere, the flowers, the fountain and St. James’ park. Pretty place!

And, as the last thing, we went to go see Trafalgar Square. We of course had to, just to get mad at ourselves for having such bad timing, since the Harry Potter premiere had happened on July 7th, just a day before we arrived in London, and it had happened at Trafalgar Square. Very bad timing, huh?!

Right now

Watching Scary Movie on TV2 Zulu and having popcorn & hot chocolate. Definitely a good end to the evening. Then sleeping on the air mattress I put up the other night for Cecilie to sleep on. I slept on it last night, and I had the most amazing sleep I’ve had in a long time, so I’m definitely going to sleep on it again tonight. Going to take it down tomorrow though, and on Wednesday I’m going on a road trip with Cecilie to Aalborg! Yay!

Travelling

London; July 9th 2011

Besides going to Camden on July 9th (which I already showed you pictures of) we also went to Piccadilly Circus & Leicester Square, to find the new M&M’s store. Took a few pictures at Piccadilly Circus – I really like the picture I took of the Union Jack (British Flag), blowing in the wind at the top of a building. So pretty!

When we came to the M&M’s store, I was really surprised. It was sooo huge. The thing that impressed me the most though, was all of the M&M’s you could mix for yourself – We didn’t buy any though, since it was way too expensive, but it looked amazing. M&M’s in all colors of the rainbow! So amazing. I also loved the huge M&M’s sign with the Union Jack on it. Was cool in that store – but also filled with A LOT of people.

Elephants mean a lot to the thai people - They used them for centuries as working animals; In war, as a local taxi and even for tourists to ride on or for shows..
In 2016 I experienced this first hand when I paid to watch elephants in a show. Elephants that were chained up when they didn’t perform. I’ve felt bad about it ever since.
This time we visited an Elephant sanctuary - A place where the elephants have been saved from the tourism and working industry. The mahouts live in the jungle with them and even consider them their pets! 🐘
Yes, they do still get a lot of tourists visiting them - but they get fed lots of bananas, get mud baths and washed in the river and just generally seem very happy! Best part? No chains! The mahouts only train them by using sounds (seeing as elephants don’t have a great sight).
I really recommend visiting this place! 🥹

Heldigvis er her stadig dejlig lunt - på trods af regn og skyer 😌 Vi krydser fingre for blå himmel og solskin når vi skal på ture i næste uge 🙈🤞🏻

First two days in Krabi are almost over - It’s the end of the monsoon season here, so we still haven’t experienced a clear blue sky 🌥️ However, it is still nice and hot, even when it rains 😌
Crossing our fingers for sun and blue skies when we go on some trips next week! 🙈🤞🏻
